Granny, 96, faces eviction from nursing home after hosting too many wild parties
A booze and boogy loving 96-year-old has claimed to be at risk of being booted from her care home after continually hosting crazy parties with loud music and heavy drinking
A 96-year-old party-mad pensioner has been issued a serious warning over her boozing and boogying. Lillian Droniak has been told she is at risk of being booted out of her retirement home if she carries on.
The Instagram star claimed in a viral video that staff had warned she could be kicked out after hosting rowdy gatherings for fellow residents in Connecticut, US. But the social media sensation insists nobody is going to stop her having a good time.
The party-loving nonagenarian read out what she said was the warning letter to her nearly 13 million followers that said: “Getting kicked out of my nursing home. Parties are not allowed… and you cannot serve alcohol to other residents. This letter serves as a final warning.”
However, Grandma Droniak, as she is known online, had little sympathy for the rules. “I can do whatever I want,” she declared. “I pay $12,000 a month to live here and I can party if I want to. We’re going to drink and gossip. It’s not a party, but we do get rowdy. I can’t help it. I love to party! You can’t stop me!”
The fiery pensioner’s latest antics are one of many viral stunts that has seen her become one of the internet’s biggest senior stars known for her love of partying.
Writing in a first-person piece for The Guardian in 2022, Droniak admitted that she had never expected to become an internet celebrity, describing herself as a quiet child who later worked in a factory before raising a family, saying making people laugh had “never been my area”.
She also revealed filming the videos helped her cope with the isolation of lockdown after her usual bingo games, church visits, cruises and senior events came to a halt.
“Making these videos makes me feel younger, too,” she wrote. “I might be 92, but only feel 65 when we’re filming.” Her social media fame even became a lucrative side hustle, with brands sending her free clothes, handbags and trainers before paying her to feature products in her videos.
She said younger followers regularly asked for relationship advice, and her answer was always simple: “Don’t smoke cigarettes, dump your boyfriend, love yourself and don’t drink every day.”
