Fresh blow for ex-wife of drug-crazed celeb dentist shot dead during knife rampage
The ex-wife of a meth-crazed dentist shot dead by police faces fresh tragedy after her brother unexpectedly died during a routine surgery
The ex-wife of a disgraced celebrity dentist, who was gunned down by cops during a drug-addled knife rampage, has been hit by a fresh wave of tragedy. Cassandra Lin, 37, who previously unmasked her late ex-husband Dr Steven Lin as an abuser, is mourning the sudden death of her brother, Christopher Jenkins.
The 40-year-old commercial funding specialist based in Sydney, Australia, tragically passed away on Thursday morning due to complications during routine ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery, which he had undergone to fix a snoring problem. Ms Lin told the Daily Mail: “I am simply broken and have no idea how I’m meant to go on without him.”
Taking to Instagram to share her agonising grief alongside a gallery of family photos, she wrote: “It is with profound and unimaginable heartbreak that I share the sudden and tragic passing of my brother, Christopher. He died horrifically, following complications from elective ENT surgery. All he wanted was a good night’s sleep.”
Describing her brother as her “safest place,” she said: “To call him my brother feels far too small for what he was to me. He was my sibling soulmate, my protector, my safest place and the person I loved most in this world.
“As children we were close, but our bond only grew stronger as adults, as family was everything to him. We became each other’s constant. I was the centre of his world, and he was the centre of mine.”
Struggling to envision a future without his presence, Ms Lin added: “The loss of him is impossible to put into words. I don’t know how to imagine this life without his laughter, his guidance, his unwavering love and the comfort of knowing he was always there.
“And even though I feel broken, and there are no words to describe the immense pain I am feeling, I am endlessly grateful for every moment we shared and for the privilege of being loved by him.
“He was truly one of a kind, with the largest heart, and the space he leaves behind can never be filled. Please keep our family in your thoughts as we try to navigate this unimaginable loss. I love you, Christopher, always and forever.”
This latest heartbreak comes just months after Ms Lin’s ex-husband, 41-year-old Dr Steven Lin, was shot dead by police in March.
The TV dentist had lunged at two female strangers with a blade in Sydney’s Potts Point while high on methamphetamine.
Before he died, the author of global bestseller The Dental Diet had spiralled from a high-flying, TED-talking superstar into a man with a rap sheet for stalking, choking and assault.
In a funeral letter later posted online, Ms Lin laid bare his double life, saying: “We had it all – our little family felt whole and unbreakable…[then] my world came crashing down.
“I discovered the life you had been living behind my back. The affairs. The secrets. The abuse. The child you fathered that I knew nothing about.”
During a chilling 2024 ice bender, the crazed dentist even threatened to butcher the mother of his five children, saying: “I will slit your throat and rip your head off and hang your body in the garage.”
