Bugatti and C SEED Create N1, a Folding Super TV That Channels the Tourbillon’s Design Into the Living Room

Bugatti teamed with Austrian display specialists C SEED to build the N1 Super TV, a massive, folding screen that appears to be directly inspired by the Tourbillon hypercar’s design language. The project converts the car’s fluid contours, precise measurements, and distinctive C-line into a piece of furniture that remains low-profile until needed.

You can pick between two sizes: 110 and 137 inches. Both use the same technology as intended: 4K MicroLED with MiP panels, HDR10+ support, a special coating to deal with ambient light, and C SEED’s Adaptive Gap Calibration. The end result is a screen with excellent contrast, deep blacks, and razor-sharp detail. It also works well with ambient lighting, which can make displays appear washed out. This is not an issue, though.

When not in use, the N1 looks like a high-end architectural sideboard with a few carbon fiber accents. It is available in a sleek matte silver finish or can be custom painted with one of the Tourbillon palette colors. The screen and speakers then disappear from view.

All that is required to open it is a single button. Then you can watch as a central sliding mechanism initiates a series of movements that pull the panels up and out to the full size of the screen over the course of around 45 seconds. There is also an option for a 180-degree rotation, allowing you to modify the viewing angle to match the sitting arrangement in the room. It is all very smooth, methodical, and controlled.

Wisdom Audio worked on the sound system, designing a custom design that use planar magnetic speakers to span a specific frequency range for clarity and depth. When the screen is activated, the speakers pop out and then retract when it is closed again. The goal is to keep the unit’s sharp lines intact.

The materials and structure are comparable to those found in the Tourbillon. They used carbon fiber to cut weight and stiffen the design while preserving its sleek appearance. Each surface and finish option is designed to enhance the car’s interpretation of Art, Form, and Technique.

Bugatti’s Managing Director, Wiebke Ståhl, says the cooperation intends to integrate design, engineering, and performance in unique ways. C SEED’s CEO, Alexander Swatek, stated that the goal was not to make a better TV, but to develop something that went above the ordinary TV category in the same way that a Bugatti does.

The N1 will be sold through a global network of select partners and dealers, but don’t expect to be able to buy it at places like Best Buy. Pricing has yet to be announced, but the N1 looks to be aimed at people who already own Tourbillon or similar ultra-high-end toys and want to bring that same level of engineering into their home.
