‘Armed and dangerous’ woman with snake tattoo who ‘blew up oligarch’ in Monaco pictured
Anastasiia Berezovska has been identified as the prime suspect behind an explosion in Monaco that critically injured a Ukrainian oligarch, a woman and a teenage boy, as Interpol issues a red notice
Interpol has named the suspect in the Monaco bombing that reportedly targeted a Ukrainian tycoon with links to Russia. The organisation identified Anastasiia Berezovska, a 39-year-old woman from Ukraine, as the suspect in a Red Notice posted on its website seeking her arrest.
The Interpol notice says she has a tattoo, possibly of a snake, on her right arm from the shoulder to the elbow. It says she was born in Ukraine, has dark hair, and speaks German.
It says her arrest is sought by authorities in Monaco for attempted murder and other charges. The “armed and dangerous” woman has been pinpointed as the chief suspect behind a blast in Monaco that left a Ukrainian oligarch, a woman and a teenage boy fighting for their lives.
She was allegedly caught on camera outside the Sun’s Palace – an upmarket apartment block owned by victim Vladim Yermolaiev.
She is suspected of ditching the rucksack that exploded in the entrance hall, shortly before 9pm. She is thought to have been roughly 12 metres away when she triggered the device.
“The prime suspect was identified by a witness,” said an investigating source.
“She is armed and dangerous, and thought to be in the company of accomplices,” said the source. “She should be approached with extreme caution.”
CCTV footage revealed the woman sporting a black bucket hat and long sleeves fleeing on foot across the border to France, where there are no checkpoints.
It is understood that the suspect was heading towards Beausoleil in France and has since travelled onwards to Italy.
French and Monégasque legal authorities have launched a criminal investigation for attempted murder, the placement of an explosive device on a public road with criminal intent and criminal conspiracy.
Stéphane Thibault, the Monaco prosecutor leading the inquiry in Monte Carlo, declared: “We are attempting to arrest the suspect.”
