A social media influencer’s three year old daughter has tragically drowned while on holiday, reportedly after following a cat outside and falling into a swimming pool. Giullersis Claudio was on holiday with her partner, Manny Maldonado, and their two children when the heartbreaking incident took place.
The family, originally from Jarabacoa in the Dominican Republic, were enjoying a few days at a villa in Puerto Plata. Around 7am on Sunday (31 May), their daughter, Amanda Michelle, is believed to have woken up and followed a cat outside while her mother was tending to their younger child, Manuel Ángel.
Based on the information available, the toddler accidentally fell into the swimming pool. No further details have been publicly disclosed as yet, as reported by NeedToKnow.
Giullersis, known online as “La Negra del Swing”, boasts over 593,000 followers on TikTok and 339,000 on Instagram, where she posts family-oriented content.
She posted on Wednesday (2 Jun): “Thank you all for your messages. I can’t read them right now, but very soon my angel will give me strength.”
One follower responded: “I’ll pray for you, so that nothing and no one ever makes you doubt how amazing you were to her.
“From one mum to another, I’m holding you close and sending you the biggest hug.”
On Monday (1 Jun), Manny, a local businessman involved in domestic borehole drilling, shared a video of Amanda giving him a foot massage.
He captioned it: “I will love you forever, my daddy’s princess. May God keep you by His side, my little angel.”
Amanda’s funeral took place in Jarabacoa yesterday (2 June).
