Multiple hurt in Schongau school shooting as ‘rampaging gunman’ goes berserk

Multiple people have been hurt in a school shooting. The horror incident happened at a high school in Schongau, Upper Bavaria, Germany where there is a huge police presence.

A police spokesperson said there are strong indications of a possible rampage. Police had previously announced that they were deploying numerous officers to the Welfen-Gymnasium.

The suspected perpetrator was arrested in Schongau after the incident, police announced. A contact point for relatives and parents of students was set up at the fire station.

More than 15 police patrol cars rushed to Welfen-Gymnasium in Schongau, Bavaria, at around 12.50pm local time.

Emergency services remain at the scene as police continue to investigate the incident. Officers are still working to establish how many people were injured and the severity of their injuries.
