Unitree H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian Robot Unleashes Flying Kicks and Car Lifts in Fresh Demo

Unitree released a short video this week introducing the H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian, a full-size humanoid built on the company’s existing H2 platform and positioned for security and rescue work. In the opening sequences the robot climbs onto the roof of a scrapyard car, flips off, then delivers knees, elbows, and punches that leave clear dents in doors and hoods. It jumps from a platform labeled four meters high, lands, rolls, and stands again, then chains aerial kicks and backflips amid sparks. Unitree states the footage is real and has not been sped up.
Later scenes shift to staged protection and rescue. The H2-X steps between a woman and an armed figure, drives the attacker away, then dives to shove a person clear of an oncoming car. In another clip it raises the front end of a vehicle so a dummy can be pulled out from underneath. Commenters have noted that the car already appears supported off-camera in places, so the lift may combine the robot’s strength with external help. Unitree has not said how much of the performance is autonomous, teleoperated, or pre-scripted.

Details on the H2-X are still unclear, but Unitree is willing to reveal that it should be able to last approximately eight hours on a full charge, or so long as you don’t ask it to walk for miles or bounce around a lot. This compares well to the conventional H2, which can only last roughly three hours on a single 15 Ah quick-release battery. Of course, there may be an updated battery pack or a clever new power management system in play. Reports from China suggest that some hardware upgrades will make it tougher, more balanced, and even include a library of martial arts moves captured by filming real individuals.

According to reports, the H2-X is the same size and weight as the H2, standing approximately 182 cm tall and weighing 70 kg. It has 31 degrees of freedom (which is a lot of joints), with six in each leg, seven in each arm, three at the waist, and two in the head. The legs can create 360 N·m of torque, capable of propelling it through the air or delivering a powerful punch, while the arms can handle 120 N·m. That is the same amount of muscle as the regular H2.

The onboard computer can manage a staggering 2,070 TOPS in its highest configuration, which is enough to keep all of the clever motion-control algorithms, vision, and obstacle recognition working smoothly, as well as complex tasks like patrol routes. If you choose multi-fingered hands, you can have the robot use tools or jiggle doors. The operating temperature range is -20°C to 60°C, and the frame is made of high-quality materials such as aircraft-grade aluminum, titanium alloy, and super-strong polymers.

You’ll be delighted to know that there are supplementary development interfaces, which allow you to load in your own custom sequences or patrol routes if you’re so inclined. The most popular questions are: how much will it cost and when will it be available? The standard H2 costs roughly $29,900, but Unitree describes the H2-X as a specialized model designed for industrial areas, parks, and emergency response situations. Until independent testing confirms how well it performs in real-world settings, all we know is that it’s a fairly impressive-looking machine capable of performing all sorts of creative feats with a little of balance, some high-torque strikes, and lasting all day on a single charge.
