Morgan Gibbs-White’s fiancée has appeared to take aim at Thomas Tuchel after the Nottingham Forest midfielder was left out of England’s latest squad.

The 26-year-old was omitted from England’s World Cup squad in the summer despite an impressive Premier League campaign for Forest last season.

Gibbs-White has made another strong start to the season with Forest with a goal and two assists in four Premier League games so far.

But the midfielder was not named in Thomas Tuchel’s latest England squad which was announced on Friday for their upcoming Nations League matches against Spain, Czech Republic and Croatia.

In a post on Instagram after the announcement, Gibbs-White’s fiancée, Britney De Villiers, shared a stat on Instagram which highlighted the Forest midfielder’s strong start to the Premier League campaign.

De Villiers’ post read: ‘Morgan Gibbs-White is the only player to have created 5+ chances in a single Premier League game this season.’

Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Eberechi Eze have been named as England’s three No.10s for the upcoming international break.

When asked why Gibbs-White had failed to make his England squad, Tuchel said on Friday: ‘It makes no sense to nominate three, four, five, number 10s. It just does not help anyone.

‘We can see the form that Morgan is in and he ended the season very, very strongly and was the key player for Forest to not be relegated. We can see him stepping up now.

‘It is one thing to be nominated, by the way, like with Cole [Palmer] and getting your ticket back in the squad. But it’s another thing to perform for England and this also counts.

‘So especially also Cole needs to step up when he comes and needs to show these kind of numbers and these kind of performances to get his place, to keep his shirt and to justify the nomination.’
