Djylian N’Guessan: Liverpool confirm signing of 18-year-old France winger who could arrive in January

Liverpool have agreed to sign teenage winger Djylian N’Guessan from St Etienne for €5m.

The 18-year-old, who has scored 11 goals in as many games for France’s Under-17 side, will officially become a Liverpool player in January.

N’Guessan will be loaned to Ligue 1 club Brest for the first half of the season and Liverpool will make a decision in January whether to leave him in France or to bring him to Anfield.

N’Guessan starred in the 2025 European Under-17 Championship, scoring four goals, being named in the team of the tournament and helping France reach the final.

The forward represents the second young player Liverpool have agreed to buy this week after goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans, who is joining for a low initial fee but who could cost as much as £30m.

Liverpool have also brought in other youngsters such as goalkeeper Armin Pesci, centre-backs Mor Talla N’Diaye and Ifeanyi Ndukwe and midfielder Samuel Martinez in the last 12 months as their Global Talent team try to plan for the future.
